1. Who we are
Buy Later! is a shopping cooling-off app operated by Shanghai Genki Whale Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. The app helps you save product screenshots, wait through a cooling period, receive reminders, and review AI-assisted purchase analysis before deciding whether to buy.
This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store it, and how you can delete your account and data.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: a local temporary account identifier, Apple Sign in identifier, and Apple email address when Apple provides it.
- Product information you provide: product screenshots, product images, product name, price, merchant or platform, product details, product URL, cooling period, status, and your final decision.
- AI analysis content: extracted product information, AI analysis reports, search evidence snippets, and report generation status.
- Settings and app data: language, currency, notification permission state, local caches, and widget display data.
- Technical information: request time, IP address, device/network metadata normally included in server logs, error codes, and service diagnostics needed to keep the app secure and reliable.
3. How we use information
- To create and sync your cooling-off product records.
- To extract product information from screenshots and generate AI-assisted reports.
- To notify you when a cooling period ends, if you grant notification permission.
- To show statistics such as saved amount, skipped items, cooling items, expired items, and purchased items.
- To provide account login, account migration from a temporary account to Apple Sign in, customer support, security, abuse prevention, and service improvement.
4. AI processing and third-party service providers
To provide core features, we may send product screenshots and product information to service providers that process data on our behalf, including cloud storage, AI/VLM model providers, search services, hosting providers, and Apple Sign in. These providers are used only to operate the app features you request.
AI analysis may be incomplete or inaccurate. Please use it as a reference only, not as financial, legal, medical, or professional advice.
5. Storage and security
Product screenshots and generated thumbnails may be stored in Tencent Cloud COS. Account and product records are stored in our backend database. We use HTTPS, access controls, signed URLs, and operational safeguards to protect your data. No internet service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to keep your information protected.
6. Notifications
We ask for notification permission only to remind you when a product cooling period ends. We do not use notifications for unrelated marketing without your permission. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings at any time.
7. Your choices and rights
- You can use a local temporary account before signing in with Apple.
- When you sign in with Apple, records from the temporary account are imported into the Apple account.
- You can delete individual product records in the app.
- You can delete your Apple account from the app. Account deletion is designed as a hard delete: your account association, product records, screenshots, thumbnails, AI reports, statistics, sessions, and other data linked to the account will be deleted or irreversibly anonymized, except where we must retain limited information for security, legal, tax, dispute, or abuse-prevention obligations.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or additional assistance.
8. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. When you delete your account, we will delete or irreversibly anonymize account-linked data according to the deletion description above.
9. Children
Buy Later! is not intended for children under 13 or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International processing
Your information may be processed in the country or region where we or our service providers operate. We take reasonable steps to protect information according to this policy.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when features, service providers, legal requirements, or security practices change. We will update the effective date and, when appropriate, notify you in the app.
